Photodisinfection is a bactericidal modality based on the generation of oxidative stress on outer bacterial cell membranes, when light of a matched wavelength illuminates a photosensitive agent near the membrane. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of photodisinfection as an adjunct to SRP in chronic adult periodontitis. Methods: 121 patients with chronic periodontitis were recruited into a multicenter, randomized, examiner-blinded, parallel-group study. All patients were treated with scaling and root planning (SRP) at all pocket probing si

Etiopathogenesis of Erythema Multiforme - A Concise Review- Juniper Publishers

Juniper Publishers- Open Access Journal of Dentistry & Oral Health Etiopathogenesis of Erythema Multiforme - A Concise Review Authored by  Rakhi Issrani Abstract Erythema multiforme is a reactive muco-cutaneous disorder in a disease spectrum that comprises a self-limited, mild, exanthematic, cutaneous variant with minimal oral involvement (minor form) to a progressive, fulminating, severe variant with extensive muco-cutaneous epithelial necrosis (major form). These prototypes are well defined, but their distinction may be difficult in practice because of their overlapping features. Hence this literature review describes the associated potential etiologic agents and pathogenic mechanisms of erythema multiforme that may aid in early and accurate diagnosis of this lesion to prevent the complications and morbidity associated with this entity.   Juniper Publishers- Open Access Journal of Dentistry & Oral Health Challenges of the Rehabilitation of Two Central Incisors- Juniper Publishers Authored by  Carlos Eduardo Sorgi da Costa Abstract The constant advancement of ceramic systems, influencing the equilibrium of a highly aesthetic material with satisfactory resistance properties, together with the advances and successes of the adhesion systems, are increasingly encouraging patients who seek an aesthetic solution with longevity. Careful planning based on refined diagnostic waxes, with cross-information with complete photographic planning, shows that it is. It is possible to carry out a great rehabilitation with great predictability and safety in details that make a total difference in the final result. In this case report we show a total harmonization of the smile of a young patient who was very satisfied with the results obtained. Keywords: Implant; Ceramic restorations; Bone graf
